For the record, I am not saying this issue results in an unbootable TW system. That is because the linuxefi module, the default module used for booting, is builtin (as you mention), so the inability to load Grub modules does not affect booting suse itself. This is for Grub modules not builtin, necessary to boot anything other than "linuxefi". The standard `linux` module is not-builtin, so NO kernel can be booted unless it contains the EFI support. So to reproduce please try `linux` or any other non-builtin module. I will check out again just in case it has changed with today's pushes. (Secureboot is indeed disabled).
