I've noticed that the probability of failed suspend is higher when I have a
running docker container, but this container does nothing with regards to heavy
disk i/o. But this may be a coincidence because when this happens usually the
next try after stopping the container will also fail.

I'm trying to reproduce it with kernel compilation as you suggested
