Updated a server yesterday to current: Linux ServerA 5.15.12-1-default #1 SMP Wed Dec 29 14:50:16 UTC 2021 (375fcb8) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Basic server with Samba, .. nothing else, no GUI. Imagine my surprise when I could not log into the server after reboot!!! Turns out the update BLEW AWAY sshd_config AND ssh_config, replacing with virgin copies!! What happened to the SAFE practice of dropping the new versions into the directory with an extension like .distnew?
