Can you please find how Nautilus is able to check the mime-types in GNOME.
For some reason Dolphin and Konqueror are broken without the hack I've been
recommending. 

I can't see a fix on the horizon from the KDE devs due to the bug's low
priority.
If the bug has not been found and fixed before openSUSE 13.3 is in Beta, can
you create a new shared-mime-info 1.2 rpm for the next version?

It would save people the aggravation of having to run the fix again.
