Are we sure the NVIDIA driver can be combined with other drivers and support
RandR 1.4?

@Werner, 
- Since NVIDIA and modesetting need different libGLs, I'm not sure if it is a 
  good idea to do this combination.
- not sure what you mean by 'the xrandr file in /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup'.
  Could you explain?
- could you provide an output of 'xrandr --listproviders'?
