Observed ======== # cat vconsole.conf KEYMAP=us FONT=B1.fnt FONT_UNIMAP=cp437AB.uni # mkinitrd dracut: *** Including module: i18n *** dracut-install: ERROR: installing '/usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/B1.fnt.*' dracut: FAILED: /usr/lib/dracut/dracut-install -D /var/tmp/dracut.H4ue7H/initramfs /usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/B1.fnt.* Expected to see =============== Don't force-add a dot; try {"B1.fnt", "B1.fnt.*"} instead of just {"B1.fnt.*"}. Other notes =========== There is no mention in the vconsole manpage whether FONT= files are supposed to have an extension or not; however, openSUSE Tumbleweed has this default vconsole for me, so I guess an extension is legit, and mkinitrd is wrong. KEYMAP=us FONT=eurlatgr.psfu FONT_MAP= FONT_UNIMAP= This bug applies to both 15.3 (dracut-049.1+suse.238.gd8dbb075-150200.3.60.1.x86_64) and Tumbleweed (dracut-057+suse.309.gb71946f6-1.3.x86_64).
