Not sure if that keeps Plymouth from running. Also, plymouth.enable=0 is a
parameter that is evaluated by Plymouth itself.

For what it's worth, can you please keep Plymouth uninstalled (and possibly
locked with zypper addlock) until we have resolved this issue? That way we make
sure we don't run into something Plymouth related as well.

Of course, don't forget to rebuild the initrd after removing Plymouth :)
