Can you please bear with me, I have some knowledge about multimedia codecs. webm/vp9 codec is available in Chromium, see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NTOZbjg6SE Right click on the video and choose "Stats for nerds", and you will see that the video is webm/vp9. This other video, from the same channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAoQPp9XLt8 Doesn't work, again "Stats for nerds", show it is vp9. So the problem is not vp9 support, it is working in Chromium, it is another issue. About chromium-ffmpeg, some people can't use packman, I can because it is not against the law here, but some just can't.
