I just did an entire boot/shutdown-cycle again and took fresh screenshots. Here's how it looks like: 1. select "opensuse" in UEFI boot menu 2. enter disk password in GRUB 3. plymouth appers, press Esc to see boot messages 4. this screen displays: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=781377 zoomed out: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=781378 5. (nothing happens for a long time) 6. finally something is moving, these messages appear: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=781379 7. this screen displays: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=781380 8. (nothing happens for a long time, for the two minutes of the timeout to be exact) 9. finally sddm loads, login and do 'systemd-analyze blame' 10. it shows this: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=781381 11. shutdown again 12. plymouth appears, press Esc to see shutdown messages 13. (nothing happens for a long time, only the text-mode login screen is shown) 14. these messages show up: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=781382 15. (nothing happens for a long time) 16. the system finally shuts down, and just before poweroff I saw this line: "Failed to wait for process: Protocol error" As you can see, both at boot and shutdown there are two times where nothing at all happens for sometimes minutes.
