For the record, I can reproduce the crash on a standard 42.3 install in vmware,
and on my 42.2 system with Plasma 5.10.3. (so it's likely an upstream problem)

It only happens if the panel has a notification applet though. (the backtrace
does point to that)

I think it's related to the notification that Plasma shows when you remove a
panel. This is displayed by the to-be-removed (already removed?) panel/applet
too, just before Plasma crashes.
