First of all, I don't believe this is related to UEFI or the existence of ESP
partitions.

I don't see a clear error in the logs, they stop suddenly... just like the
whole installer has crashed.

Something that could have some influence (although it shouldn't) is the
existence of a partition with the id 0x17 (Hidden IFS). Such partition id is
not supported by libstorage-ng, but deleting the partition should be doable
even for non-supported ids.

I will do further research later.
