https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1201737 Bug ID: 1201737 Summary: Dolphin fails to access remote samba shares after update to samba version 4.15.7+git.376.dd43aca9ab2 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.3 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Leap 15.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Applications Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: fgruener@web.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- KDE Dolphin fails to mount SMB shares with samba version version 4.15.7+git.376.dd43aca9ab2 installed. My target system is a NAS system with NT1 support enabled. When I try to access it, which worked before update of samba, I now get the error message from Dolphin if I want to list the shares: Die Datei oder der Ordner smb://myserver/ existiert nicht. or when I try to access the share directly: Die Datei oder der Ordner smb://myserver/myshare existiert nicht. Please see the identified upstream bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453090 To mitigate the bug, if you set username and password in the URL upfront, the request then works, as the access denied error is not triggered. E.g. smb://myself:myverysecurepassword@myserver A similar problem was reported for Gnome in Bug #1198718. The issue was also reported to the samba team in ticket. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14983 The samba team will not change something so Gnome and KDE have to adopt their code. I raised this ticket, so that please the KDE patch will also be made available to the current Leap version as the Gnome patch will be done.
