I am also affected by this bug; I am no longer asked for my encrypted /home
passphrase after I upgraded to 20200415 from a month-old snapshot.

Quick workaround: after the system goes automatically into rescue mode, remove
/var/run/plymouth/pid and exit. The system will continue booting up.
