I just built an ran Linus' master (v5.18-13842-g952923ddc011) which already contains some of the block fixes and it did successfully build two of these "bad" jobs without crashing (no more of these are queued for now). It is of course possible that I did change something when (mostly de-)selecting stuff in "make oldconfig" which affects this as a side effect, but it still looks promising :-)
