Luckily, "totally screw up" is an overstatement in my case, as a single
symbolic link made it working again. Now, maybe that's not practicable, but
shouldn't packages like glibc that depend on an usrmerged system refuse to
install on a non-usrmerged system?

I will add this to the list of exceptions to my golden rule for computer users:
always ignore errors until you can't.

I'm planning to do it from the online repository on my makeshift fixed system,
unless someone knows a reason why this would be insane.
