Fresh reinstall but on a different, newly-formatted /dev/sdb. The old Leap 42.2 was detected on /dev/sda, and the installer offered to migrate settings. I'm fairly certain that /etc/yp.conf was automatically copied, as I do not recall doing so manually. I may be mistaken here, but of course it doesn't alleviate the base issue of that file overriding YaST's changes. To clarify, is the requested log file "/var/log/YaST2/y2log", or would a tarball of "/var/log/YaST2" be preferred or something entirely different.
