https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=736072 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=736072#c0 Summary: YaST2 cannot configure postfix -- SuSEconfig.postfix in wrong place Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: uli@bluewin.ch QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 Using YaST2 to configure postfix (both Mail Server and /etc/sysconfig Editor) looks like it's working but changes (e.g. POSTFIX_RELAYHOST) never appear in /etc/postfix/main.cf etc. --> postfix not configured correctly Apparent cause: The module SuSEconfig.postfix is installed in /usr/sbin (package postfix), but searched in /sbin/conf.d Symptom: SuSEconfig -module postfix reports "Module postfix does not exist". Workaround: ln -t /sbin/conf.d /usr/sbin/SuSEconfig.postfix makes it available but link is cleaned up automatically, so need to do that manually each time. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install postfix (in my case, postfix-2.8.5-3.2.1.x86_64) 2. use YaST2 / Mail Server _or_ 3. invoke SuSEconfig.postfix Actual Results: Postfix config files in /etc/postfix are not updated. In case of step 3., message "Module postfix does not exist". Expected Results: Update config files & restart postfix Probably related, though the apparent root cause is not identified there: <http://www.freak-search.com/en/thread/6166175/12.1_fyi_postfix_fuckup_solved> Possibly also same root cause: <http://forums.opensuse.org/archives/sf-archives/archives-software/325800-yast-sysconfig-postfix.html> -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
