Yes, the changes to edit_attributes (just looking at a diff myself)
look eventually relevant.  OTOH the error message looks suspiciously
like another instance of that still open upstream bug...

Can somebody attach the broken .ko? (after debugedit mangled it but
before objcopy messed with it)
