Since the update to Tumbleweed Snapshot 20150924 opening any application that tries to access pcscd, e.g. pcsc_scan, prompts for the root password, this was not the case before. journalctl -u pcscd.service shows Sep 28 15:54:35 tux93 pcscd[7757]: 00000000 auth.c:137:IsClientAuthorized() Process 7756 (user: 1000) is NOT authorized for action: access_pcsc Sep 28 15:54:35 tux93 pcscd[7757]: 00000461 winscard_svc.c:326:ContextThread() Rejected unauthorized PC/SC client I'm using pcsc-lite (1.8.14-121.4) and pcsc-ccid (1.4.20-66.2) from the seurity:chipcard repository, polkit (0.113-1.1) from Tumbleweed-Oss I'm not sure if this might be related to bug 900115
