The current scheme with wx3 supports multiple variants and rpm is happy; and quite reasonably so -- only limitation being that at most one -devel will be installable at a time, as wx-config will not be patched. See for example wxGTK-devel and wxGTK3-devel. But it still requires so much thought that I would not want to have more than we do at this time.
