Curiously, my USB webcam stopped functioning in a similar manner as my sound on
the very same moment. Downgrading pipewire magically fixed that too. Other USB
devices kept working well the whole time. All of the above is connected to a
Thunderbolt 3 docking station.

So something is definitely confusing the docking station or my laptop hardware
that got triggered by pipewire's behaviour, even though Pipewire may not be at
fault here.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to further diagnose this? The system involved
is a Dell Precision 7450. The current solution is blocking me from upgrading my
system, which is not great.

Does it make sense to take this up with the Pipewire people?
