thing is, with glibc 2.37,I only have reduced resolution and

ps -A auf |grep -i Xorg
  has no output.  so, if nvidia is running, it is hiding
  or something else is at play.

later I will reinstall glibc 2.37 and provide 
output from glxinfo.
