As far as it goes. I always select generic role and detailed package selection,
and deselect recommends before customizing selections. I got bit some time ago
using this sequence with an installation that omitted zypper, libzypp or one or
more of their requires that made zypper useless. So since then I always check
that *zyp* and various personal necessities are selected, and taboo a few I
wish omitted that would otherwise come from various patterns, like fonts I
never want to see.
