- Which video driver are you using - before and after the update?
- Could you provide an /var/log/Xorg.0.log for either one?
- What desktop are you using? 
  - Could you try another one to see if the issue goes away?

- Could you please open a terminal window, do 'xrandr -q' and provide the
output
