In 42.3 KDE3 I had Top running in Konsole plus Kcmshell memory running 6 days ago when I opened K3B to make a local .iso from a DVD mounted to /dev/sr0. Target destination EXT4 on MD RAID1 with ample freespace. The memory window showed steady growth while K3B reported no progress and top showed CPU bumping up against 100%. I closed all open apps except K3B, Top and Kcmshell until RAM consumption reached 99% of 16GB total, then I killed K3B, without it having made any detectable progress. Could the reason be the same as in comment 0 here?
