Note: this is not the same as the bug saying grub shows the menu slowly. The graphical menu is drawn quickly and looks fine. Only reacting to keystrokes (f.e. highlight the next menu entry when pressing the down arrow) is extremely slow and easily entices grub2 to stop responding.
