Actually I wonder whether the boot still fails at this moment after zypper dup.
If the problem was some hard-link mess via the update, it might work magically
even without fixing anything else, just because you once uninstalled and
cleaned up.

Thanks for confirmation.  I guess using symlink is a better option in anyway,
so let's move toward this.
