One thing to note: I tried to compile Octave from source, and was met with configure: WARNING: Qscintilla library not found -- disabling built-in GUI editor Perhaps this is the reason? Not exactly sure how to fix as I do have libqscintilla_qt5-devel installed, hopefully this is a lead for more knowledgeable people.
