May be loosely related. But given openSUSE, should not be dismissed that
easily: BTRFS is the default filessytem for / in openSUSE and the documentation
does not mention a possibility of such thing being disabled. So I'd even argue
that it is particularly remarkable issue given the default setup.

Except in that particular case that / -partition size is < 16GB.
