How do have updated the texlive packages ... zypper or anything other? Do ypu
have anything cahnged on the default behaviour of zypper and/or rpm? This is
really curiousas at every update some users report this and I've no clue why
this happens as I never was able to reproduce.

Become root with e.g. su or "sudo -i" and do

  touch /var/run/texlive/run-mktexlsr
  touch /var/run/texlive/run-updmap
  touch /var/run/texlive/run-fmtutil.refresh
  /usr/share/texmf/texconfig/update

... and this should have been done at install time with zypper and also with
rpm but only if scripts had not been disdabled.
