I frequently find /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/gschemas.compiled to have 640 permissons on my system which makes it unreadable for regular users and in turn lets virt-manager silently fail on startup. I guess that's because my root shell was running with umask 027 when installing the latest updates, but I think this kind of file generation should be done in a way that does not depend on the current umask.
