Thank you Takashi for your response! I installed kernel-firmware-20161005-145.1.noarch from Kernel:HEAD on my openSUSE 13.2. I still see the same trace in journal. From journal, I see this now: Oct 22 18:36:35 srinidhi kernel: iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0: loaded firmware version 25.228.9.0 op_mode iwlmvm This firmware was the same even before updating kernel-firmware - I mean, the version. I don't know if the new firmware is loaded. Also, another observation. If I connect to the 802.11ac, I don't see any traces in journal.
