just delete or move /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-default.conf and reboot. Also rebuild initrd dracut -f --regenerate-all
The problem is the "intermittency" of either the console or the operator . . . today running
# zypper rm /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-default.conf
did remove the .conf file . . . or this time did I run simply w/o the "zypper,"
# rm /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-default.conf
and that did remove the file, but did not restore "nouveau" into lsmod . . . . I had run the dracut, also not restoring nouveau to lsmod. I then tried to run "modprobe nouveau" and that **instantly** froze the mouse and GUI . . . after a few seconds I shut it down with the power button. On cold boot, that does seem to have restored "nouveau" back into lsmod and the “revival from suspend” function in my machine. I’ll have to monitor it for longevity.
