Everything is still displayed bigger than before (as part of the "temporary solution" in comment #0) I temporarily used lxde (I've now gone back to the gnome window manager) but it is a rather minor annoyance. If you know how to shrink everything displayed it would be welcome information, but even if you don't this report can be RESOLVED FIXED.
