Is this about seeing if I no longer need the i915.force_probe=46aa option, or about the tearing problem? Anyway, I'm willing to try the sle15-sp5 kernel (I'll be running it in a few months anyway), but I don't know how. If some writeup is available for that somewhere, I'd appreciate a pointer. I haven't seen the problem manifest anymore, but I don't know whether it's gone or not, maybe it's about coming back from sleep, maybe it's about a graphics process being started on or migrating to an efficiency-core, maybe it's about unhooking and rehooking to the dock. No clue. So I'll give it a few days to see if it reappears.
