coming out of suspend, the permissions on /dev/shm are set wrong. they must then be fixed by doing : sudo chmod 1777 /dev/shm symptom : browsers like firefox / chrome refuse to start chrome, if started by commandline, even shows a message saying what one needs to do. which leads me to think this is a known problem..... (?)
