The issue was expected since GNOME Software was not working to update software on the read-only root, see: https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:MicroOS/Desktop#Ways_to_install_applications_in_order_of_preference https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:MicroOS/Desktop#Installation:_GNOME_Software I still append it to Jonathan's queue in case there were missed information/plan.
