I am sorry, but I don't know anything about this issue. I spent some time searched the web for occurrences of the error message, but I could not find anything that seemed relevant. I suppose the best way forward would be to report the issues Werner Fink has observed upstream, to the poppler authors, so that they can take a look at them.
