kdenlive in openSUSE 13.2 has in his spec file: BuildRequires: pkgconfig(libv4l2) in 42.1 such line is missing. Because of that in: Settings -> Configure kdenlive -> Capture -> FFmpeg both fields: Detected Devices and Capture Format are empty. As consequence you are stuck with a fixed input video resolution. If you rebuild kdenlive adding the missing BuildRequires you are able to choose your video device and video format.
