On my system, the owncloud client (executable is named owncloud) always segfaults immediately after launch. v2.4.1 used to work fine. This may be triggered by my desktop environment (i3), although I did not analyze beyond the following: The culprit appears to be fix-systray-menu-pos.patch: with upstream, platformMenu is checked against NULL before dereferencing it; but with the patch, the pointer is dereferenced unconditionally, the NULL check comes too late.
