When looking at files with less like ARCHIVES.gz it unpacked it automatically. Since the recent updates this doesn't work anymore: # less ARCHIVES.gz "ARCHIVES.gz" may be a binary file. See it anyway? I tried to debug it a bit with "set -x", which didn't help. The funny thing is, that after issuing "set +x" less works as expected again. Using su (to root for example) breaks it again.
