Hello there, Five years later it looks like the rest of the stack is ready to re-enable deferred takeover; would you consider such a change? Currently there is no way of configuring a true silent boot with openSUSE without using a custom kernel - and silent boot is one of the least useful things to recompile a kernel for. If bugs and glitches are still a concern the "unpractical" approach of setting "fbcon=nodefer" by default is still an option.
