Comment # 20 on bug 1145314 from Richard Farthing

Just installed kernel update 4.12.14-lp151.28.13-default and other updates
issued yesterday and LVM1 came to life, again no changes by me to SAMBA or
elsewhere. 

I added a symlink from a directory in LVM0 to LVM1 for easier admin and I have
the exact same problem - permission denied on that symlink, though the LVM1 &
LMV2 shares, and symlink that was failing before are now OK.

This is yet more bizarre. It's like it takes a few days for some cache or
cached credentials to expire or be acknowledged ?
