The way this currently works is such that the unprivileged user starts cdemu-daemon, requiring that the user has permissions on /dev/vhba_ctl. cdemu-daemon will then sit on the user's dbus bus and listens for cdemu-client requests. As to how the user gains rw permissions for /dev/vhba_ctl I am not totally sure we can just chmod a+rw it like /dev/fuse. What's the security teams take on it?
