YaST2 hung "retrieving cracklib-dict-full.rpm extension"

while investigating bug https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1009472
I tried to pass a DUD=*dud containing the rpm*.rpm

The consequence is that YaST2 hungs at  "retrieving cracklib-dict-full.rpm
extension"

The y2log ends is stuck at Calling: extend, 

note that there is no /var/log/extend in reported tarball
and no trace of extend in /var/log/linuxrc.log
