I created a still video (repeating the same frame) with 10s length: http://www.mizapf.eu/files/vlc/resol_test.mp4 You can download it and compare vlc --vout vdpau resol_test.mp4 with vlc --vout xcb_xv resol_test.mp4 The difference should be obvious. I am using Mesa 20.2.3 currently. Seems as if the people of Mesa or whoever is responsible for that vdpau module are not aware of that issue.
