Small update: I just tried version 525.89.02 packaged by SUSE, which was available in the repo in early March. As expected (because I suppose it must be a simply packaging of NVIDIA's), it did not work either, so I rolled back (through btrfs snapshots) to 525.85.05 and disabled the repo https://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/tumbleweed till further notice. Other than that, I had forgotten about the issue, so this is useful to update the bug as well :)
