I'll have a look at it but my gut feeling is that FBReader isn't handling the case where that interface isn't provided properly. It could be a dbus bug where a call that didn't used to block is now blocking but my guess is thats less likely as dbus is more or less just a communications protocol, i'll cc the fbreader maintainer as well.
