Hi,

Does the touchpad work in the login screen (sddm):

no does not work on the login screen


Do you have xf86-input-synaptics installed?:

yes, had it installed, because the touchpad stopped working.
Removed it, rebooted, still same issue, touch events(click, long touch/right
click) are working, moving the cursor does not work


the touchpad configuration dialog:

shows an red bar with "No touchpad found" Error
