I will get gray hair fast ;-) Ok, I executed `systemctl suspend` and indeed computer suspended, monitor switched to standby mode, num lock on the keyboard (I keep it for testing this case) went off, mouse was turned off (no light under it). Then I tried to wake it up: * pressing all keys on keyboard -- nothing * pressing mouse buttons -- nothing * plugging out/in keyboard and pressing keys -- nothing * pressing reset button for short period and also long -- nothing * finally I pressed power button and computer awoke, keyboard is fully operational with preserved my non-standard layout, mouse is working too As for the layout, if I disconnect and connect keyboard again while computer is running, the layout is resetted. So I would say suspending and waking up works fine.
